A Message from our Program Director

Dear GHMYLP Supporter,

The word "COMMUNITY" can be defined as "group of people with a common background or shared interest within society". Our mission statement and vision looks to implement the fullest meaning of this definition in the most positive way possible by combining partners, caregivers, professionals and parents to expose our young men to fostering leadership. If it takes a village to raise a child, it will take a community to raise a group of young men. It's time for us to take stake in the lives of our young men. As a community, we need to show love, support and inspiration. Joining forces with the organizations that support, educate, govern and nurture our young men will show them, by hands-on experience, that success in every field in human endeavor is obtainable.

The men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Hartford Alumni Chapter has taken on the charge of planning an annual leadership program. This program is a collaboration with local fraternities, sororities, mentor groups, educators, church youth organizations and parents. We believe our efforts will make a positive impact on the lives of our participants. This program is designed to develop leadership skills and in-turn these young men can be positive role models in their community. Coming together for the success of our future leaders' shows "with common goals and the grace of God, all things are possible."
